On Saturday, October 1 Restoration Farm was happy to host FCA’s Cross Country Invitational. The Northern Maryland FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Cross Country team uses the property as their home running course. At this invitational race Christian schools were invited to run 5k (high school) and 2 mile (middle school) races. This year at the invitational there was also an open 2k run for parents, coaches, siblings, FCA alumni, and community members which added another fun event to the day.
Rockbridge, Chapelgate, Covenant, Harford Christian, and Tri-State were all represented at the race along with the FCA team for a combination of 98 runners. Forty-five participants ran in the Open 2k race with a great cross section of young and old alike running. It was a memorable day running in the wet conditions as Hurricane Ian was making its way into the Maryland region. After the races there was a devotional time before awards were passed out to top individuals and the winning teams in each category.
The farm is excited to continue to partner with the FCA Cross Country teams. We love to hear about the spiritual growth of the athletes as they participate in weekly devotional times and prayer with their team members and coaches.
