Blacksmith Classes in the new Forge Building!
Pottery classes (with our new kiln) are back!
Planned classes for September 2023:
Introduction to Forge beginners’ class: Saturday, September 23– from 9am-1pm. Cost $50. Limited to 4 students. Preregistration required.
Project class: Saturday, September 30 – from 9am to 1pm. Iron Gnome. Material cost $50. Open to beginners and advanced. Limited to 4 students. Preregistration required.
Friday evening opportunities: Friday, September 8 & 15 – from 5:30-8:30pm. Work on a project or skill of your choice or Instructor’s project. Material cost $40. Open to anyone that has taken “Intro to Forge class” or Instructor’s approval. RSVP – space is limited.
Two evening Blacksmith Knife class: Tuesday, September 12 & 26 – from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. This class will focus on improving skills. Material cost $75. Open to anyone that has taken “Intro to Forge class” or Instructor’s approval. Preregistration required.
Now offering Individual Instruction – full day $150 – Call to schedule
For all classes eye protection is required. Long sleeves are recommended as well as work gloves. Closed toed shoes required. No sandals.

Restoration Farm is happy to announce that pottery classes are back! Check out the following classes. All classes require pre-registration. Be sure to contact Sarah to secure your spot as these classes are likely to fill up quickly!
Wheel Class Series: Cost 190.00
This is a 3 week class offered October 14, 21, and 28th from 9:30am-12:30pm. Limited to 4 people.
Beginner Wheel class: Learn how to center clay on the wheel. Conquering this foundational skill will then allow you to make cups, tumblers, bowls, and other pieces. In second and third classes, learn the finer skills of trimming, and the creative ideas and techniques of glazing. Follow up classes will also allow you more time on the wheel. 25 pounds of clay included.
Intermediate Wheel class:
For those with foundational skills (centering 1-3 pounds of clay on the wheel)-Learn how to center larger weights of clay on the wheel. Learn new techniques which include throwing lines, swirls, and the use of ribs for more decorative finishes on your wheel thrown pieces. Additional skills taught also include handle pulling for mugs, pitchers, etc. 25 pounds of clay included.
If interested, spend some time learning about the technique and chemistry of making glazes. While we do have brushing glazes available, we also make some of our glazes from scratch.
Casserole dish handbuilding class: 1:00-3:00 PM Learn how to make a handbuilt casserole dish. Personalize your custom creation using different techniques including underglazes, carving, stamping, transfer papers, and more. Cost is 60.00 and your dish will be ready to take home within 1-2 weeks (after two firings).
October 21
Christmas Casserole dish handbuilding class: 6:00 PM-8:00 PM.
Learn how to make a handbuilt Christmas casserole dish. Personalize your custom creation using different techniques including underglazes, carving, stamping, transfer papers, and more. Cost is 60.00 and your dish will be ready to take home within 1-2 weeks (after two firings). Christmas cookies and carols to be enjoyed while we work!
November 10th
Ornament making class: 6:00 PM-8:00 PM
Learn how create different types of ornaments! Decorate your creations using glazes, paints, carvings, cutters, stamping, and transfer papers. Ornaments will be ready for pick up in 1-2 weeks (after two firings). You will have approximately 12-20 ornaments to take home. Cost is 40.00
