In September of 2015, a Christian couple wanted to use the land which God had given them to be an oasis of hope and refreshment to others as it had been to them. After consulting with Christian friends, a plan was forged to organize Restoration Farm. The mission of the farm echoes the words of the prophet Isaiah:
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion - to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified. (Isaiah 61:1-3 ESV)
Restoration Farm is to be a place of ministry to our community by means of the Scriptures and agriculture - offering hope, healing, and wholeness where that ministry is most needed.
The board of Restoration Farm is in its early stages. We are working to prepare programming, events and services to most effectively meet the needs of this community. We call on God's people to pray. We ask churches to support our efforts financially. We will be recruiting volunteers. We ask churches to engage in our ministries and use the services offered through Restoration Farm. We earnestly hope you will see this vision with us: an oasis of hope located in Harford County, Maryland, to the glory and praise of our God and Savior!
He leads us by gentle waters ... He restores our soul.
Our communities are filled with people who are experiencing pain and difficulty in a world that has no time for the hurting. Restoration is the heart of this ministry. People facing disease, disabilities, economic hardships, fractured relationships, pain, disappointments, loss, grief, abandonment or abuse need the balm of Bible teaching in a peaceful environment to restore their soul.
For we are glad when we are weak and you are strong. Your restoration is what we pray for. (2 Corinthians 13:9)

Occasionally, we have official work days at the farm. With our sizeable acreage, there are plenty of opportunities for volunteers to assist during official work days or according to their own schedules and availability. If you are interested in volunteering your time and skills by helping out at the farm, please contact us. Regular upkeep includes weeding, cleaning, mulching, maintaining fence lines, mowing, planting, plowing, and general farm upkeep. Equipment and tools are currently limited, so we encourage volunteers to come fully equipped for their duties.
For any questions concerning upcoming work days, please feel free to contact Brad Beichler at . If the weather is exceptionally bad on an official work day, a cancellation notice will be posted to the website and the date will be rescheduled. We hope to see you at the farm!
The buildings, properties, and animals will be used as an aid in the ministry of restoration. The house will serve as a small retreat center for church groups, a counseling center for pastors and missionaries who need refreshment, and a hub for all educational and ministry programs.
The property and animals will be used for public programs to teach agriculture. Programs will be developed for interactive educational experiences in both planting and husbandry. We plan to interact with inner-city groups, youth agricultural groups, and other community organizations.
We plan to construct a first century setting in which to model the agriculture of Israel and to cause the teachings of Jesus to come alive. We hope to offer a community sunrise service, outdoor programs, concerts, agricultural shows, passion plays, and much more.
We will offer animal therapy and counseling groups. Art, drama, and music programs will be offered. We will design specific ministry for children in the foster care system, children facing life-consuming illnesses, people of all ages with disabilities, people seeking comfort in support groups of various kinds, as well as people in nursing homes.
